Theme Showcase: Footnotes and References

Footnotes are useful when a note would interrupt the sentence but still belongs on the page.1

Reference-style links can also keep source text readable. The theme is built for Hugo, a static site generator with strong markdown support.

Multiple Notes

Footnotes can appear in different sections. They collect at the end of the rendered article, where the theme applies quiet styling and backlink behavior.2

When to Use Them

Use footnotes when the note supports the article but does not need to be part of the main reading path.

  2. Hugo adds backlinks so readers can return to the original sentence. ↩︎
