Termfolio
A dark, repo-style Hugo theme for technical writing and project pages.
Problem
I wanted this site to feel closer to a browsable working directory than a conventional blog theme. The older setup was readable, but project pages, code-heavy writing, search, metadata, and portfolio-style summaries needed a visual system that felt deliberate.
Approach
Termfolio is a dark, terminal-inspired Hugo theme built around shell prompts, file-list navigation, local fonts, static rendering, and privacy-first defaults. It keeps ordinary pages free from runtime JavaScript unless optional search is enabled, while still supporting project metadata, taxonomies, table of contents, social metadata, shortcodes, and code-focused writing.
The project section was part of that shape from the start. Each project can carry stack, status, role, impact, repo, demo, license, and year metadata without needing a separate portfolio app.
Result
Termfolio now provides the foundation for this site and for a standalone example site. It gives the blog, project index, posts, search, and taxonomy pages one coherent terminal-style interface.
