Bootstrap Freelancer

Problem

Not every site wants the minimal document feel of Smigle Lite or the terminal interface of Termfolio. A more conventional portfolio layout is still useful, especially for project cards, blog posts, images, and a familiar Bootstrap structure.

Approach

Bootstrap Freelancer adapts the Start Bootstrap Freelancer template into a Hugo theme. It includes layouts for posts and projects, example content, Bootstrap styling, syntax highlighting, and theme assets that can be installed as a submodule.

Recent maintenance focused on making the demo clearer and tightening small usability gaps, including category and tag examples that help Hugo users build taxonomy pages that match the rest of the theme.

Result

The project provides a straightforward Hugo theme for portfolio-style sites. It is intentionally more traditional than the themes used on this site, which makes it useful as a different design option rather than another variant of the same idea.
