Back to Github

So I’m back on GitHub, well kind of. I’ve created a new account, I’ve decided to give it another go as there seems to be no way to really move away from GitHub. I’ve tried the alternative of using Codeberg which was ok, however there were limitations with other tools that I use, which just assume that you’ll be on GitHub for example sonarcloud, coveralls and generally how the badges on readme me works.

This was the main reason for moving, it was the integration with other tools that I like to use while doing development. The GitHub actions are just there and work, and well don’t cost me anything. Yes I could have replicated this on other platforms, but in all honesty I really don’t want to replicate them I just want something that works and well this does.

Even though I don’t agree with some of the things that GitHub is doing, and how much Microsoft is grabbing of the Open Source world, and some of the questionable workings of CoPilot. I can’t ignore how low the bar to entry is on GitHub and how everything is there and somewhat taken care of, allowing developers to just focus with what they are working on. So with that being said, I’ve moved back.

Also to mention with the creating of a new account, well I just fancied creating a new account there is no real reason to it, not sure why I did it but here we are. The new account is just joe-mccarthy
